I started flying in Sep 1974, but it was not until summer '75 that I actually met any other flyers and joined the BHGA. I was a member from 1975-1992 when I became a permanent resident in France, where I am still flying hang gliders.
My brother Kay also flew in 1975, but only for a short time and didn't join the BHGA. But my cousin James Carslaw bought my glider in 1976 and flew for a few years in the north of England somewhere.
